Julian McMahon Joins Paranoia

On the heels of yesterday’s casting announcement, Julian McMahon appears set to join Robert Luketic’s Paranoia as a character named Meechum, Deadline reports. He joins Liam Hemsworth, Harrison Ford, Amber Heard and Gary Oldman.

The project has been in development for some time and will adapt the novel by Joseph Finder. Originally drafted by Barry Levy, the most recent version arrives from Jason Hall.

The story centers on a young man who funds a lavish retirement party for a co-worker with company funds and is caught by his boss. Accused of embezzlement, he agrees to spy for the boss to avoid prosecution. He is forced to infiltrate a rival company and steal information on a top-secret project.

McMahon, best known for appearing on the television series “Nip/Tuck” has also appeared on the big screen in a number of roles, including both Fantastic Four films and, most recently, in the comic book adaptation RED.
