Third Cloverfield Movie Begins Viral Promo on 10th Anniversary

UPDATE #1: From the message below, a new URL was found – http://04182028.com/

Yesterday marked the 10th Anniversary of the release of the original Cloverfield, and fittingly, Paramount Pictures has begun viral promotion for the upcoming untitled third Cloverfield movie (previously known as God Particle), which will be released on April 20, 2018. The cryptic viral site for Tagruato (a corporation at the heart of the original film’s viral alternate reality game/ARG) features a browser incompatibility message, but when the brightness and contrast are turned up, a message is (barely) readable.

Via Reddit: “Tokyo – January 18 2018: Tagruato has begun development on a revolutionary new energy technology in what Ceo Garo Yoshida called a technological great leap forward for our planet. This renewable technology will take at least 4 years to complete along with another six years International regulatory bodies to bring the powerful revolutionary energy source by April 18 2028”

There’s also a strange face pattern visible in the background, one that looks like either a turtle or, possibly, a similar creature to the iconic Clovey…

The plot for the untitled Cloverfield movie is said to revolve around an American space station that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then pick up traces of another space station nearby. It stars David Oyelowo (SelmaInterstellar), John Ortiz (Fast & Furious films, Kong: Skull Island), Elizabeth Debicki (The Night ManagerThe Man From U.N.C.L.E.), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (ConcussionBeyond the Lights), Chris O’Dowd (The IT CrowdMoone BoyThor: The Dark World), Ziyi Zhang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Daniel Bruhl (Captain America: Civil WarRush).

The untitled Cloverfield movie is directed by Julius Onah (The Girl is in Trouble). Originally scripted by Freaks of Nature and 22 Jump Street scribe Oren Uziel, the project was rewritten by Star Beyond‘s Doug Jung.
