Andi Matichak Cast in Blumhouse’s Halloween

Andi Matichak joins Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer in Blumhouse’s Halloween

Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New BlackUnderground) has been cast in David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s Halloween, according to Deadline. The Blumhouse and Universal Pictures production also stars Judy Greer (Jurassic World13 Going On 30) and Jamie Lee Curtis (A Fish Called WandaHalloween). Andi Matichak will play Allyson, the daughter of Greer’s character.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, the daughter of Curtis’ character.

Curtis’ character was unceremoniously killed off in Halloween: Resurrection in 2002, but in true Halloween franchise fashion, it would appear that the film will be ignoring the continuity of many of the sequels in favor of telling its own story. Curtis has previously appeared in four films in the series, including the 1978 original, its 1981 sequel, 1998’s Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Resurrection.

Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.

Andi Matichak is known for playing the role of role of Meadow in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She’s also played Wendy Brazda in Miles, Miss Jubilee in the WGN series Underground, and Kayla Shepard in the recently-completed film Replicate.
