Whitford, Kebbell and McNairy Join Nicole Kidman in Destroyer

Two-time Emmy Award Winner and Golden Globe nominee Bradley Whitford (West Wing, The Post, Get Out), Toby Kebbell (War for the Planet of the Apes, Kong: Skull Island), and Scoot McNairy (12 Years a Slave) have joined Karyn Kusama’s crime thriller Destroyer, starring Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Nicole Kidman. Emmy Award winner Tatiana Maslany and Sebastian Stan recently boarded the project, which was penned by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. 30WEST will fully finance the film, with Academy Award nominee Fred Berger of Automatik, who will be producing alongside Hay and Manfredi, who also wrote and produced Kusama’s critically-acclaimed film The Invitation. Principal photography will commence next week in Los Angeles.

Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Hot off Jordan Peele’s box office hit Get Out for Universal Pictures, Whitford can next be seen in Steven Spielberg’s anticipated feature The Post, starring Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep for Fox. He recently completed filming on Godzilla: King of Monsters for Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros.

Kebbell was most recently seen reprising his role as Koba in War for the Planet of the Apes for Fox and playing both a live-action role as helicopter ace Jack Chapman as well as the title role King Kong in Kong: Skull Island for Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. He stars in Whitney Cummings’ romantic comedy The Female Brain, which will be released in theaters on February 9th.

McNairy was lauded for his 2014 performance in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave and has appeared in countless films, including: War Machine for Netflix, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Argo for Warner Bros., and Gone Girl for Fox. McNairy also currently stars in the Netflix series Godless and recently wrapped filming on The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter, starring Josh Brolin and Danny McBride.
