Lynne Ramsay, who recently directed We Need to Talk About Kevin, has signed on to helm the revenge-driven Western Jane Got a Gun. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, also saying that Natalie Portman is attached to star.
Written by Brian Duffield, the project made the 2011 “Black List” of unproduced screenplays with the following logine:
After her outlaw husband returns home shot with eight bullets and barely alive, Jane reluctantly reaches out to an ex-lover who she hasnt seen in over ten years to help her defend her farm when the time comes that her husbands gang eventually tracks him down to finish the job.
Portman, who last year starred in Thor, No Strings Attached and Your Highness, will also produce.
