According to Deadline, actor Anthony Mackie may be joining Brad (The Lincoln Lawyer) Furman’s Runner Runner, a drama about offshore online gaming for New Regency that already stars Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck.
Written by David Levien and Brian Koppelman (Rounders) and produced by Appian Way, the film is about the tense relationship between the man who starts the offshore gaming business and his protégé. The movie is scheduled to begin production next month.
Mackie, who starred in last year’s The Adjustment Bureau and the Oscar-winning war drama The Hurt Locker, can be seen later this year in Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad, is currently filming Michael Bay’s Pain and Gain.
