Scholastic has acquired North American rights to a five-book middle grade fantasy series by bestselling authors Holly Black (“The Spiderwick Chronicles”) and Cassandra Clare (“The Mortal Instruments”); the first full-length collaboration between the authors. Constantin Films, meanwhile, is planning a feature adaptation of the first book, The Iron Trial with eyes towards adapting the entire franchise for the screen.

Now that theyre combining forces, it’s even more magical. This series is going to be one for the ages, and I am honored and thrilled to be publishing it.”
