Taken Director Pierre Morel Takes on Bastille Day

Vendome Pictures has entered into an agreement with Anonymous Content to produce Bastille Day, written by Andrew Baldwin. Anonymous Content developed the project with Baldwin, bringing it to Vendome who preemptively acquired the material on spec before it became available to all buyers. Pierre Morel will direct the feature film.

Vendome Pictures CEO Philippe Rousselet will produce the project along with Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros, and David Kanter. Vendome will fully finance the production of the film.

Bastille Day is an original idea about a young American artist living in Paris and a washed up CIA agent who together are tasked with diverting an imminent attack on the city.

Baldwin’s recent credits include The Outsider, his 2nd screenplay to land on the Black List, which is in pre-production at Warner Bros., with Daniel Espinosa attached to direct; and he is writing Logan’s Run for Warner Bros. that has Nicolas Winding Refn attached to direct and Ryan Gosling to star.

France’s Pierre Morel is best known as the director of the blockbuster Taken, starring Liam Neeson. His other credits include District B13 and From Paris With Love, starring John Travolta.

Vendome’s President of Production, Guy Stodel, and Vice President of Production and Development, Sarah Schweitzman, will oversee the project on behalf of Vendome.
