Daisy Ridley May Film Daddio Before Starting Episode IX in June 2018

Variety reports that actress Daisy Ridley has found her next project following the wrap-up of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and has signed on to star in Daddio. Written by Yours, Isabel and To Quiet the Quiet screenwriter Christy Hall, the outlet says that the film follows a woman who is picked up by a cab at JFK airport and driven to her apartment in Manhattan. On the way there, the woman and cabdriver begin discussing their past and current relationships and the effects those relationships have had on their lives.”

Also of note from the article is the start time for shooting the project. Variety says that if all the pieces of financing for the film come together quickly, that Ridley could film the project ahead of her prep for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, which will begin production in June of 2018.

Until recently, Star Wars: Episode IX was set to be directed by Jurassic World‘s Colin Trevorrow and was originally scheduled for release on May 24, 2019. Following the departure of Trevorrow, Lucasfilm confirmed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams would return to the franchise to helm the feature, now coming to theaters on December 20, 2019. Abrams will co-write the script with Chris Terrio (Justice LeagueArgo). Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm will produce.

Daisy Ridley can next be seen in Murder on the Orient Express on November 10 before returning to that galaxy far, far away for Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 15.
