Rian Johnson’s Looper Was Released Five Years Ago Today

Today, September 28, 2017, marks five years since the official release of director Rian Johnson‘s hit sci-fi classic, Looper. We’re celebrating the occasion with a special video about the film on its anniversary featuring plenty of trivia for our fellow film fans. Check it out above!

In the film, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Willis) for assassination.

Looper grossed $66.5 million at North American theaters and $110 million internationally for a worldwide total of $176.5 million. It cost just $30 million to make.
