New Line Cinema has plans to adapt Andrew Ferguson’s 2001 book, “Crazy U: One Dad’s Crash Course Getting his Kid into College” into a feature film, Deadline reports. Will Ferrell is interested in headlining the project, the source material for which is officially described as follows:
The cutthroat competition to get into the perfect college can drive students to the brink of madness and push their parents over the edgeand bury them in an avalanche of books that claim to hold the secret of success. Dont worry: “Crazy U” is not one of those books. It is instead a disarmingly candid and hilariously subversive chronicle of the journey that millions of parents and their children undertake each yeara journey through the surreal rituals of college admissions. Its a rollicking ride from the man Christopher Buckley has called my all-time favorite writer.
Ferrell’s latest, Casa de mi Padre is in theaters now and, later this year, he’ll star opposite Zach Galifianakis in Jay Roach’s The Campaign.
