GK Films and Tobey Maguire’s Material Pictures are planning to adapt a forthcoming sci-fi novel, The 5th Wave, for the big screen. Variety has the news, saying that the film will be based on a just-sold proposal by Rick Yancey.
Planned as a trilogy of books, Yancey’s story has a teenage girl on the search for her brother against the background of an alien invasion. At her side is a young man who may or may not be an undercover invader himself.
Yancey is best known for young adult series like “The Alfred Kropp Saga” and, more recently, “The Monstrumologist”.
