Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy Join Alfred Hitchock and the Making of Psycho

Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy have signed on to play Psycho stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins in Fox Searchlight’s Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, Montecito’s adaptation of the Stephen Rebello non-fiction book. Variety has the news that both will appear opposite Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock.

Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) will direct the film, which tells the true tale of Hitchcock’s attempts to finance his now-classic 1960 horror film. Adapted by John McLaughlin, who co-wrote Black Swan, the story is centered on the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville. Helen Mirren is slated to play Alma.

Johansson recently starred in Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo and can soon be seen in Marvel’s The Avengers. D’Arcy, meanwhile, just appeared in the Madonna-directed film W.E..
