El Mayimbe over at Latino Review is reporting that actor John Turturro may be reuniting with director Michael Bay for his “smaller movie” Pain and Gain, which already stars Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Ed Harris and Rob Corddry.
According to them, Turturro would play Miami businessman Marc Schiller, who was kidnapped and tortured by bodybuilders Daniel Lugo (Wahlberg) and Adrian Doorbal (Johnson), members of Miami’s notorious Sun Gym gang. Bay’s true crime tale is based on
Pete Collins’ Miami New Times series about the criminals. Originally, they had gone out to Albert Brooks for the role, but Latino Review is saying that deal fell apart and Bay turned to the actor who appeared in all three “Transformers” movies.
As they note, Tuturro actually looks a little bit like Schiller.
