Director Hired for Cabin Fever: Patient Zero

Heat Vision is reporting that comic book artist-turned-director Kaare Andrews (Altitude) is in final negotiations to direct Cabin Fever: Patient Zero.

Jake Wade Wall (The Hitcher, When Strangers Call) wrote the script for “Patient Zero,” which is about a cruise ship in the Caribbean running aground an abandoned research island. A deadly virus is unleashed and the passengers must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.

The Indomina Group will start shooting the film soon in the Dominican Republic.

Original Cabin Fever producer Evan Astrowsky and his Hypotenuse Pictures are producing the movie with Indomina. Indomina Group vice chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann is executive producing.

“Patient Zero” is expected to be followed by Cabin Fever: Outbreak, being written by Adam and Deborah Marcus (Leatherface 3D, I Walked With a Zombie). In that film, a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.
