Variety is reporting that Essence Atkins from the TBS show “Are We There Yet?” will be joining Marlon Wayans in his independent found footage spoof Smart Ass, which Wayans will be co-directing with Mike Tiddes. Currently filming in Los Angeles, Marlon Wayans’ directorial debut will spoof recent horror films like Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside Me with regular Wayans’ collaborator Rick Alvarez (Little Man, White Chicks) producing with Lisa Blum.
Atkins previously appeared with Wayans in Paramount’s spoof comedy Dance Flick, directed by Wayans’ nephew Damien Dante Wayans.
