New Images from the Next Looney Tunes Short, Daffy’s Rhapsody

Premiering before screenings of Warner Bros.’ upcoming Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the “Looney Tunes” short “Daffy’s Rhapsody” has just released several new images and you can check them out below.

In this brand new “Looney Tunes” escapade, a relaxing evening at the theater turns into hunting season as Elmer Fudd is surprised by the unexpected appearance of his perpetual and ever-elusive target, Daffy Duck, on the stage. As Elmer gives chase, Daffy cleverly evades him while regaling the audience with a song that illustrates his plight—how hunters will never leave him alone.

“Daffy’s Rhapsody” will debut in theaters nationwide on February 10, 2012 and will be presented in 3D and IMAX wherever the film screens in those formats, as well as in standard 2D.

The short stars the vocal talents of the late Mel Blanc, long renowned for his characterizations of such Looney luminaries as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales, Sylvester and Foghorn Leghorn, as well other memorable characters, such as Barney Rubble and Dino the Dinosaur for “The Flintstones” and Mr. Spacely for “The Jetsons”; and Billy, who has provided voices for numerous film and television projects, including “Futurama,” “The Looney Tunes Show,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” “The Ren & Stimpy Show” and “Doug.”

Daffy’s Rhapsody is directed by Matthew O’Callaghan (“Coyote Falls,” “I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat,” Curious George) and produced by Spike Brandt (“I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat,” “The Looney Tunes Show”), Tony Cervone(“I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat,” “The Looney Tunes Show”) and Warner Bros. Animation. The short’s executive producer is Sam Register (“I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat,” “The Looney Tunes Show,” “MAD,” “Green Lantern: The Animated Series”).

The lyrics to Daffy’s song were written by Warren Foster and Michael Maltese, legendary writers of hundreds of classic “Looney Tunes” shorts during their golden age in the 1940s and 50s.
