It’s been quite a while since word broke that Elizabeth Banks was attached to star in a live-action Tinker Bell movie (in July of 2010 to be exact), but Banks tells Moviehole that it might still happen and compares the project to Elf. Banks said they are still in the script stage.
“Its a live action ‘Tinker Bell’ movie sort of in the vein of ‘Elf’ in which I would play Tinker Bell,” she said. “Tinker Bell gets thrown out of Never Never Land, and its about where she goes and who she meets and the adventures she has .”
The Jon Favreau-directed Elf (2003) stars Will Ferrell as a normal man who was raised by an elf at the North Pole and goes looking for his real dad in New York.
She added that she thinks “Tinker Bell is one of the greatest characters because shes mischievous and snarky and fun and sexy and jealous and vengeful.
The romantic comedy will be produced by Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and McG.
