DC Sets Wonder Woman Day for June 3

DC Comics has announced Wonder Woman Day, a celebration of the superhero on June 3

DC Entertainment announced a global celebration in honor of the June 2 opening of Wonder Woman. This June 3 will be known as Wonder Woman Day, honoring the 75-year legacy of the Amazon Princess. Over 2,000 comic book retailers, bookstores and libraries will host activities for the day. Fans will be able to get two special edition comic book issues. Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1 is a reprint of Wonder Woman #1 by writer Greg Rucka and artist Liam Stamp. DC Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1 has a chapter from the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls Vol. 3: Summer Olympus from writer Shea Fontana with art by Yancey Labat. Special events for Wonder Woman Day will see participation from comic book writers and artists including Greg Rucka, Phil Jimenez, Cliff Chiang, Shea Fontana, Marc Andreyko, and Cat Staggs.

DC has teamed up with an array of retail partners including, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Costco and Amazon for exclusive in-store and digital promotions to create the ultimate Wonder Woman Day experience. Cross-divisional activations will also include Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, alongside key partners including Six Flags Theme Parks, to further spotlight the groundbreaking DC Super Hero.

From May 29-June 3, the digital series DC All Access will host a series of Wonder Woman segments to celebrate the lead up to Wonder Woman Day, including interviews with comic book artists and writers. If you can’t get out to the events for the day, you can download the official Wonder Woman Day activity kit, including comic book activity sheets, coloring pages, trivia, and games. Readers will also receive deals on digital comics at readdcentertainment.com and in the DC Comics app, where 100 digital comics and eBooks will be on sale starting May 30.

Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 2 and stars Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Netflix’s House of Cards), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Ewen Bremner (Exodus: Gods and Kings, Snowpiercer), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Connie Nielsen (GladiatorNymphomaniac: Vol. I) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
