Left Behind Books Returning to the Big Screen

Heat Vision is reporting that the faith-based “Left Behind” books are returning to the big screen. Paul Lalonde and John Patus, who worked on the original films based on the Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins books about the End of Days, have written a screenplay that plays like a disaster movie, says the site.

Paul Lalonde is the writer and producer of the original movies made by Lalonde’s Cloud Ten Pictures. John Patus worked on the final film, 2005’s Left Behind: World at War.

Cloud Ten is searching for a director for the project, which is budgeted at $15 million. The plot for the new film centers on the first few hours after the Rapture and focuses on the survivors.

The original movies starred Kirk Cameron. The first one hit theaters while the second and third went straight to video.
