Paramount Powers Up Hyperdrive

Paramount Pictures has purchased a spec script called Hyperdrive, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

To be produced by Mary Parent, the script arrives from Morgan Jurgenson and David Daniels and mixes buddy comedy with science fiction, pairing a serious cop with a nerdy sci-fi writer, both of whom move from investigating a murder to the middle of an intergalactic plot.

Jurgenson is best known for his recent release, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, which he co-wrote with that film’s director, Eli Craig. Daniels, meanwhile, is said to be the pen name of Alex Ankeles, an executive at Panay Films most recently connected with Disney’s The Girlfriend Equation.
