Chris Evans and Haley Bennett in Talks for Red Sea Diving Resort

The upcoming film Red Sea Diving Resort has two possible new cast members, according to Variety. Chris Evans (Captain America: Civil WarThe Avengers) and Haley Bennett (The Girl On the TrainThe Magnificent Seven) are reportedly in negotiations to join the film. Red Sea Diving Resort, previously called Operation Resort will be written and directed by Tyrant executive producer Gideon Raff. The film is being financed by Bron Studios (Fences), though the pitch had originally been with Fox Searchlight.

Red Sea Diving Resort is based on the 1981 rescue of Ethiopian Jews. In 1977, Israel’s Moussad was ordered by then-Prime Minister Menachem Begin to attempt the rescue of thousands of Ethiopian Jews in the country of Sudan and bring them back to Israel. The base they establish and carry out the rescue from, is in a deserted resort in Sudan.

According to Deadline, Evans will play Ari Kidron, “a charming Israeli agent who assembles a ragtag team to help with the exodus on the ground.” There is no word yet on the role Bennett will play in the film. Alexandra Milchan will produce, with production beginning this summer.

Evans is best known for playing Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most recently in Captain America: Civil War. He’ll be seen again in the role in Infinity War in 2018. His next film is the Marc Webb-directed Gifted, co-starring Octavia Spencer and Jenny Slate. Bennett has also been seen in Rules Don’t ApplyMarley & Me and The Equalizer. She’ll be seen next in the Dreamworks PTSD film Thank You For Your Service.
