Christopher Columbus Eyes The Secret Lives of Road Crews

Chris Columbus is negotiating to direct The Secret Lives of Road Crews, Deadline reports.

First announced back in 2007, the film was originally set to be released through DreamWorks, but is now housed at Paramount. Written by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott with rewrites by Craig Mazin, the sci-fi action comedy involves a road crew going up against a race of underground aliens.

Columbus most recently directed Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Though that film is planning a sequel, Columbus is likely to only be involved as a producer. He was also recently attached to the Korean remake, Hello Ghost. Which project he’ll tackle first remains to be seen.
