A Black and White Logan May be on the Way

James Mangold hints that a Black and White Logan release may be on the way

Logan, the latest (and probably final) film about Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman (The Prestige) isn’t even out yet, and we’re hearing about something pretty cool that could possibly be for the home video release. As you may recall, some of the earliest marketing images for Logan were black and white, setting the dark and moody tone of the film. Of course, the final film is in color. Today on Twitter, however, director James Mangold had an exchange in which he said he was working on a black and white Logan. Check out the exchange below (via ScreenCrush).

This is all the information we have, of course. Whether or not we’ll actually see this happen hasn’t been confirmed, but it certainly sounds like an interesting idea. Here is the official synopsis: In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces. Certainly sounds like it might work in black and white.

Also starring Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Stephen Merchant, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez, Logan is coming to theaters on March 3, 2017. This is the ninth time Jackman has played the role of Wolverine on the big screen. It is reportedly the last. Are you guys excited for the film?
