Where Did The Avengers Film Yesterday?

According to the Sandusky Register, filming began on Monday at NASA Plum Brook Station in Ohio (view official site) for Marvel's The Avengers. The following is an excerpt of what the newspaper said:

The filming is taking place in the big vacuum chamber at Plum Brook’s Space Power Facility and is expected to last the rest of the week, said Sally Harrington, NASA’s spokeswoman for Plum Brook.

It’s believed, however, that Samuel L. Jackson is the only big star from the film who is filming at Plum Brook.

Plum Brook has guards who control entrance into the facility, allowing visitors to enter only after showing their identification.

This week, “they have their regular security and a little beefed up to make sure,” Harrington said.

Written and directed by Joss Whedon, the May 4, 2012 release stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård and Amanda Righetti.
