Todd Phillips, director of comedies like Old School, Due Date and both The Hangover films, has secured the rights to a Rolling Stone article entitled Arms and the Dudes. Phillips will produce and may direct as well.
Written by Guy Lawson, the article (which you can read on the author’s own site by clicking here) recalls the true story of two men from Miami Beach who wound up becoming international arms dealers.
After setting records with The Hangover Part II, Phillips is likely to again step behind the camera for a third (rumored to be final) film in that franchise. Whether that comes before or after development on Arms remains to be seen.
