Wayne Kramer Teams with Relativity for Ecstasia

Director Wayne Kramer seems to have found his next project following his departure from Sylvester Stallone’s Headshot, and Relativity Media will finance it. According to Deadline, that project will be Ecstasia, a futuristic drama that was written by the South African-born director of the acclaimed drama The Cooler and the Paul Walker action-thriller Running Scared. According to their story, the high-concept sci-fi film is set in an “alternative universe” when love no longer exists, except when it is artificially stimulated using a computer chip that bears the same title as the movie, a process called “commitment.” It can be installed to create that love artificially, but being expensive and hard to maintain, couples can no longer maintain their love for each other. It follows the story of one such couple who can no longer afford “commitment.” Relativity Media had a substantial hit earlier this year with Bradley Cooper in Limitless, another sci-fi drama about a powerful drug. This is expected to be Kramer’s next project but no actors have been attached yet.
