Amy Adams Boards PT Anderson’s Next

Following yesterday’s news that Jesse Plemons and David Warshofsky have joined the cast, Amy Adams has now been announced for PT Anderson’s next untitled film, thanks to Deadline.

Adams will star as the wife of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s character. Hoffman, the lead, will play the creator of a faith-based group in the 1950’s. Said to be loosely based on the life of L. Ron Hubbard and the creation of Scientology, the film will also star Joaquin Phoenix as Freddie, the right hand man to Hoffman’s character who ultimately begins to question the organization.

Set to begin production next month, the film will be Anderson’s first work since There Will Be Blood. That film was also the only one of Anderson’s not to feature Hoffman as an actor.

Adams will next be seen in The Muppets, On the Road and (potentially not going into production until after the PT Anderson project) Man of Steel in the role of Lois Lane.
