The Lord of the Rings Returns to Theaters

Fans of Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” films should start clearing their June calendars. TheOneRing.net has revealed that, not only will the trilogy be making a return to the big screen at AMC Theaters over a three week period, all three films will be arriving in the Extended Edition versions previously available only on DVD*.

The Fellowship of the Ring will screen on Tuesday, June 14th with The Two Towers following one week later on June 21st and The Return of the King concluding the series on June 28th.

Each film will screen for one night only and, while it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, ComingSoon.net is hearing that AMC will offer the digital versions of each with a ticket price of $12.50 a show.

*The extended versions of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers were both screened nationwide as part of the promotion for Return of the King, but this will be the first time the final film’s longer version sees a major theatrical release.
