Gabriele Muccino, the director behind Seven Pounds and The Pursuit of Happyness, is rumored to be in the running to direct Adaline, Variety reports. ComingSoon.net has attempted to confirm the rumor but have only been told that any official announcement is “a few weeks” away.
The film, from screenwriters Mills Goodloe and Sal Paskowitz, is an epic love story centering on a young woman, born at the turn of 20th century, who is rendered ageless after an accident. After years of a solitary life, she meets a man who might be worth losing her immortality for.
Originally, the project was being developed with Katherine Hiegl attached to star and Andy Tennant (Hitch, The Bounty Hunter) directing. She left the project late last year and Tennant has, apparently, followed suit.
