Stanley Tucci Set for Jack the Giant Killer

Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir have all joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s upcoming Jack the Giant Killer, the studio confirmed today.

The project, a fantasy drama that re-teams Singer with The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, is said to take an adult look at the “Jack and the Beanstalk” legend. When a princess is kidnapped, a long-standing peace between men and giants becomes threatened, and a young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue her.

Tucci will play a ruthless advisor to the king and Nighy and Kassir two halves of a two-headed giant.

The leading role has yet to be announced, but official word should arrive soon as the project is expected to go into production shortly.
