Kyra Sedgwick will play the female lead opposite Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Dibbuk Box, a horror film from Ghost House Pictures, Deadline reports.
Sedgwick, best known for her crimes series on TNT, “The Closer”, will play the mother to a young girl who, after buying a mysterious wooden box at a yard sale, becomes the target of a malevolent spirit called a Dibbuk (or Dybbuk).
The film is based on Jewish folklore and a recent article article in the Los Angeles Times brought an allegedly haunted wine cabinet to prominence, becoming the focus of much supernatural speculation.
To be directed by Ole Bornedal (Nightwatch), Dibbuk Box is scheduled for release on October 28 of this year.
