TheWrap reports that Carlos star Edgar Ramirez is in negotiations to play Ares in Clash of the Titans 2, while The Sorcerer’s Apprentice co-star Toby Kebbell has been offered the role of Agenor.
The site adds that Bill Nighy is being courted to play Hephaestus, while Captain America star Hayley Atwell is on the short list for the role of Andromeda. Other actresses being considered for the role are Georgina Haig, Janet Montgomery, Dominique McElligott and Clemence Poesy.
To be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures sequel will again star Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson. It is expected to go into production soon for a March 30, 2012 release.
