Tonight, Stephenie Meyer sent a special note to the fans of “The Twilight Saga” Facebook page as a thanks for reaching 15 million fans. In the note she confirmed the casting of Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Here’s the note:

Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy. She’s an amazing young actress and I’m excited to work with her. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer!

“Breaking Dawn – Part 1” is hitting theaters on November 18, 2011 and “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” opens on November 16, 2012. Both films are being directed by Bill Condon from scripts by Melissa Rosenberg.
