Sam Raimi’s production company, Ghost House Pictures, has announced their plans to adapt the 2003 R.L. Stine novel The Sitter into a feature thriller entitled The Au Pair (which is noted to be a working title). Longtime Raimi collaborator Dana Stevens will both write and executive produce.
The film is said to, “follow a young woman who runs from a troubled relationship by spending a fun-filled, romantic summer as a nanny in a posh Hamptons beach house. The dream job then takes a frightening turn when she uncovers a dark secret that haunts her and the kids she’s sworn to protect.”
Stevens’ film credits include Life or Something Like it, City of Angels and Blink. She has worked with Raimi since his 1999 For the Love of the Game.
