Josh Brolin ‘Blown Away’ by the Avengers: Infinity War Story

Since 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers, Thanos the Mad Titan has been out there in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, plotting, scheming, and not actually possessing any Infinity Stones. That will all soon change (hopefully) when Avengers: Infinity War debuts in theaters and pits the heroes of the MCU against the biggest and baddest that the MCU has to offer.

Speaking with Moviefone, Josh Brolin revealed that he had the entire story of the two films revealed to him recently and he’s got nothing but high praise for it.

“Yeah, I sat at a table and I listened to the story from beginning to end, which was … you know, sometimes you go around and you go, “Oh, it’s a great movie. Or this is a great experience,” and you kind of know that it’s not. This is the opposite…These stories … these Avengers stories all come down to this conclusion, and that’s our involvement. Basically, my character against everybody. And it’s really fun what they’ve chosen to do with the story. I think it’s brilliant, personally. I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50% of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I’m going to be involved in it. So it’s a big thing that’s coming up.”

Production on the two Infinity War movies is set to begin in November of this year in Atlanta, Georgia with both movies being shot back to back. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who return after Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, will direct the features and have since confirmed that they will be retitled before their release.

It remains to be seen which characters will be the primary focus of the film, though we do know that Captain Marvel will appear in the movies ahead of her solo movie in 2019.

Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will pen the scripts for the two features which directors Anthony and Joe Russo will film entirely in IMAX. Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is slated for a release in theaters on May 4, 2018; Part 2 will open on May 3, 2019.
