Josh Hutcherson Gets Detention

Josh Hutcherson will topline and executive produce the teen horror-comedy film Detention, reports Variety.

The movie, which also stars Dane Cook, marks the second feature for helmer Joseph Kahn (Torque), who is best known for directing hit music videos such as Eminem’s “Without Me.”

The story centers on teens who must survive their final year of high school. Standing in their way is a slasher-movie killer who has seemingly come to life. Kahn and Mark Palermo wrote the script.

Hutcherson will shoot the $10 million Detention in Los Angeles next month before seguing to New Line sequel Journey to the Mysterious Island in October.
