Aronofsky’s Black Swan Gets a Release Date

Fox Searchlight has announced that Black Swan, Darren Aronofsky’s follow-up to his Oscar-nominated The Wrestler, will be released in select cities on December 1. This is coming mere days after the film’s world premiere was set for the Venice Film Festival in September.

Black Swan is a psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, starring Natalie Portman as Nina, “a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis).” The official blurb on the movie goes on to say, “Black Swan takes a thrilling and at times terrifying journey through the psyche of a young ballerina whose starring role as the duplicitous swan queen turns out to be a part for which she becomes frighteningly perfect.” The film also stars French actor Vincent Cassell.
