Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass, upcoming Let Me In and The Invention of Hugo Cabret) will topline Derick Martini’s indie coming-of-age story Hick, reports Variety.
The film is based on Andrea Portes’ novel, which tracks a 13-year-old Nebraska girl who gets more than she bargained for when she runs away to Las Vegas. Portes wrote the screenplay.
Christian Taylor of Taylor Lane Productions and Steven Siebert of Lighthouse Entertainment are producing the project, which starts filming later this year in New Mexico.
