Jack the Giant Killer Filming Pushed Back

Heat Vision is reporting that New Line/Warner Bros. has pushed back the filming for director Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer to February 2011. The fantasy action adventure was to have shot in England this summer.

The trade says the project was quietly casting, with Singer meeting young actors such as Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) to play a young farmer who is given the opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess. An actor has not been signed for the role yet, however.

Reportedly, the delay is because of the visual effects. Singer is said to be planning on previz-ing the movie from start to finish, and will use a process that will allow him to see the giants in-camera as the actors play opposite them.
