Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Cast in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

Having already cast Ruby Rose and Nina Dobrev, it was safe to say that xXx: The Return of Xander Cage boasted a fair amount of tough female eye candy, but it apparently wasn’t enough as TheWrap is reporting that 2015 Miss Universe contestant Ariadna Gutierrez has been cast as one of Vin Diesel’s love interests in the film. Gutierrez made headlines when last year’s pageant host Steve Harvey incorrectly announced her as the winner, although it looks like Miss Colombia is coming out on top in the long run.

In other news, social media master Diesel has posted more set photos to his Facebook and Instagram, along with an action-packed first screengrab from the movie itself. Check them all out in the gallery below!

The third explosive chapter of the blockbuster franchise that redefined the spy thriller finds extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments. Packed with the series’ signature deadpan wit and bad-ass attitude, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will raise the bar on extreme action with some of the most mind-blowing stunts to ever be caught on film.

Joining Diesel are Ruby Rose (“Orange is the New Black”), Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Toni Collette (Krampus), Tony Jaa (Furious 7), Nina Dobrev (“The Vampire Diaries”), and Samuel L. Jackson returning as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons, whom he played in the previous two installments. There is also a rumor that Ice Cube’s Darius Stone may return, although the truth of that and size of his role are yet to be determined.

D.J. Caruso (I Am Number Four) is directing xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. The film is written by Chad St. John (London Has Fallen) with current revisions by F. Scott Frazier (Collide). The threequel is getting a January 20, 2017 release from Paramount.
