Columbia Pictures has signed Kevin James to star in action-comedy Here Comes the Boom, which James will produce with Adam Sandler and Todd Garner.
Variety says Salma Hayek is circling the female lead in the film, which could start shooting in January.
The trade adds that the plot is under wraps, but James wrote the script with Rock Reuben, who penned The Zookeeper and wrote and executive produced episodes of the CBS sitcom “The King of Queens” that starred James.
James last teamed up with Columbia for Paul Blart: Mall Cop and also stars in the studio’s upcoming Grown Ups and The Zookeeper.
