Bryce Dallas Howard Gets The Help

Bryce Dallas Howard (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) is joining Emma Stone and Viola Davis in DreamWorks drama The Help, based on Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling novel.

Set in Jackson, Mississippi in the early 1960s, the story explores how the unspoken code of behavior governing Southern households is shattered when an aspiring writer (Stone) interviews a maid (Davis), who speaks candidly about her experiences. The interview sets off shock waves that reverberate across the entire community.

Howard will play “the antagonistic role of Hilly Holbrook, the beehive hairdo-wearing busybody who is cruel to the black maids and generally rubs everyone the wrong way.”

The film will be directed by Tate Taylor from his own script. Shooting starts in July.
