Baumbach and Stiller Reteaming on Penguins ?

Greenberg writer/director Noah Baumbach and star Ben Stiller are in talks to reteam on a big screen version of Richard and Florence Atwater’s Mr. Popper’s Penguins at 20th Century Fox. The 1938 book is described as follows:

Mr. Popper’s Penguins is one of the handful of American books for children that has attained the status of a classic. First published in 1938, this story of a housepainter who is sent a male penguin by the great Admiral Drake, and who, thanks to the arrival of a female penguin, soon has twelve penguins living in his house, has amused and enchanted generations of children and their parents.

The book won the 1939 Newberry Award.

Davis Entertainment’s John Davis is producing the movie, written by Sean Anders and John Morris.
