David Fincher will next direct Columbia Pictures’ chess drama Pawn Sacrifice.
The film is the life story of American chess icon Bobby Fischer leading up to his historic world championship match against Boris Spassky.
Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things) wrote the script for producer Gail Katz. Tobey Maguire is producing.
Fincher may also direct a remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for producer Scott Rudin.
