Barry Pepper has signed to play “Lucky” Ned Pepper in the Coen brothers’ True Grit. The character was played Robert Duvall in the 1969 original.
Pepper is joining a cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Hailee Steinfeld.
Ethan and Joel Coen will direct from their adapted script. Scott Rudin is producing with the Coens and Steven Spielberg is executive producer.
