Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto has been cast in Relativity Media’s War of Gods, to be directed by Tarsem Singh.
The story follows a young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind.
Pinto is set to play Phaedra, an oracle priestess who must join Theseus (Henry Cavill) on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting.
300 producer Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton are on board to produce, as is Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh. The company’s Tucker Tooley and Craig Flores of Hollywood Gang are executive producing.
Jason Keller wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was originally written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides.
The Universal Pictures release will start production in April.
