Variety says that Warner Bros. Pictures is in negotiations with Scott Hicks (The Boys Are Back, Shine) to direct The Lucky One.
The film is based on the Nicholas Sparks best-seller, which centers on a Marine who survives three tours in Iraq. He attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried of a woman he has never met, and he sets out to meet his good-luck charm when he returns to North Carolina.
Denise Di Novi and Kevin McCormick are producing and Alison Greenspan is executive producing. Will Fetters wrote the script.
