Fuqua’s Prisoners to Shoot in Connecticut

Connecticut newspaper Valley Independent Sentinel is reporting that director Antoine Fuqua will start shooting the suspense thriller Prisoners in Derby and Shelton starting February. The newspaper also says that local officials are hearing that Hugh Jackman will star in the lead role, though that hasn’t been confirmed. Here’s a clip:

John Starke, the movie’s executive director, sent a letter to Staffieri outlining the film’s plot…

“Prisoners” is about two families who live across the street from each other, according to Starks’ letter.

“These lifelong friends are thrust into turmoil when their two youngest daughters go missing. The movie centers on the family’s desperation in finding their children with the help of their neighbors and local police force; especially one police detective,” Stark wrote.

The letter stated that 750 extras will be needed. Casting calls will likely take place in January.
