Sony Classics is clearly ramping up their awards slate. About a week ago it was a first look at James Vanderbilt‘s Truth and today it’s I Saw the Light, a possible Oscar contender that finds Tom Hiddleston playing Hank Williams.
Set for a limited release on November 27, I Saw the Light, tells the story of the legendary country western singer, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.
I Saw the Light co-stars Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford, David Krumholtz and Cherry Jones and was directed by Marc Abraham. Check out the picture below.
